Cooktown Explorer Day 2
Free Day to explore Cooktown. There is much to see and do. Visit the World Class James Cook Museum, stroll along the shores of the Endeavour River.
The unique charm and historic atmosphere of the main street still prevails. You can experience the unspoilt beauty of the area, which remains much the same as when Captain Cook knew it in 1770.
Late this afternoon we depart Cooktown via the inland road, the Mulligan Highway, travelling through a diverse landscape of cattle stations and the Palmer River gold mine region, which is the outback of Far North Queensland.
Stop for dinner (at your own expense) at the authentic Queensland pub in the old mining town of Mount Carbine. Your tour comes to a completion as you are taken to your accommodation in Cairns or Port Douglas.
