About the Great Barrier Reef

Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is the World’s most extensive coral Reef.

The GBR has over 2,500 individual reefs and over 900 islands and cays.  The Reef starts in Bundaberg and extends to the Northern tip of Cape York.  The Great Barrier Reef is three thousand kilometres long.

Below the surface is over 1500 species of fish and 400 different species of coral.  The Great Barrier Reef is also home to six of the World’s seven sea turtles.  Next, you will also find dolphins, giant clams and also rays.

While flying, be on the lookout for dugongs and sea turtles, two endangered species that call the Reef home.

With breathtaking views of  Green Island, Fitzroy Island, Vlasoff Cay and Upolu CayThree of the most famous sand cays on the Great Barrier Reef.

Flying above the Reef allows for amazing views of marine life, including turtles, manta rays, dolphins and whales.

Humpback whales visit the GBR on their annual migration between June and September.
