Rainforestation Nature Park is a must-do experience while you are visiting Cairns.

Offering an entertaining day for the whole family to enjoy.  Open daily from 9 am to 3 pm.

This Kuranda attraction is a multi-award-winning park.  Located 5 minutes from Kuranda in North Queensland.

Including army duck rainforest tours, Pamagirri Cultural dancers, and hand-feeding kangaroos.

Not to mention a wonderful opportunity to take your photo with a koala.

Set on 100 acres  Rainforestation Nature Park opened in 1976 and is still proudly family-owned and operated by the Woodward family.

Coffee and Lunch

Spend the day at this nature park, and during your day, enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.  With old-world charm, the cafe is out on the verandah overlooking the scenic lake, complete with a fountain.

By the way, if you need a caffeine fix, the cafe sells barista coffee all day long.

ARMY DUCK RAINFOREST TOURS

First, start with a guided rainforest tour on an authentic World War II Army Duck!

These six-wheel-drive trucks were used extensively by the military throughout World War 2.

During this guided army duck tour, you will travel through the rainforest as well as plunge into lakes to make sure you get the best views.

Along the way, there is an informative talk about the local flora and fauna while travelling through the rainforest.

join the half-hour guided Dreamtime walk.  An informative walk learning about the Aboriginal culture that has been this land’s custodians for tens of thousands of years.

Test your skill at boomerang throwing and then see a wonderful spear-throwing demonstration.

After that, join in the fun at the Rainforest Amphitheatre for a wonderful show.

PAMAGIRRI ABORIGINAL EXPERIENCE

Arrive in time for this experience is a delightful performance about the World’s oldest surviving culture.

Then sit back and relax while the local dancers entertain you with Dreamtime stories.

Subsequently, the Pamagiri performers will give you an exciting demonstration of how to throw a boomerang and a spear.

For the Kids

Join in the fun of the Pamagirri mini mob, starting with a didgeridoo lesson, and then you get to paint a PVC didgeridoo to take home.

To summarize, Mini Mob includes a Rainforest Walk, a boomerang throwing lesson and a dance show.

KOALA & WILDLIFE PARK

Rainforestation has the ultimate koala experience. You can join the keepers for a 30 minutes koala experience to meet the resident koalas.

There are great photo opportunities, and you will learn a lot about koalas.   Above all, ensure your Rainforestation includes the Koala and Wildlife Park entry.

Later meet some Australian animals!

Discover Australian animals, including Koalas, Dingoes, Tasmanian Devils, and estuarine Crocodiles!

Following on visit two of North Queensland’s endangered species, the Cassowary and Tree Kangaroo.

Say g’day to a wombat,  a Lumholtz tree kangaroo and an eastern water dragon.

After that, head over to hand-feed the wallabies and kangaroos.

This is a Self-drive tour. Make your way to Rainforestation Nature Park, located 1030 Kennedy Hwy, Kuranda QLD 4881. There is parking available on site.

Alternatively, you can park in Kuranda and get the shuttle bus (extra cost) from the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary.

Infants (0-3 years) travel as FOC. Children aged 4-14 years inclusive receive child rates. Family rates, where applicable, are for 2 adults & 2 children.
