History of Paronella Park
The story of Paronella Park began in 1913 when a Spanish immigrant named Jose Paronella arrived in Australia. Jose Paronella fell in love with the place’s natural beauty and created his own paradise. He purchased 13 acres of land in Mena Creek and began to build his dream park. Constructing a castle, gardens, bridges, and other stunning features with his own hands. He also installed hydroelectric generators, which provided electricity to the park and the nearby town.
Over the years, Paronella Park has become a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. However, it faced numerous challenges, including fires, floods, and financial difficulties. Despite these setbacks, the park symbolised resilience, creativity, and beauty. Today, it is run by the descendants of Jose Paronella and continues to inspire and amaze visitors of all ages.
