About Munro Martin Parklands

Munro Martin Parklands has served as Cairns’ cultural hub for the past 100 years. The park has undergone a number of renamings, served as a command post, and hosted several sporting and social events. In 1956, the park officially became Munro Martin Park, named after two half-sisters, Janet Taylor Munro and Margaret Martin, and their philanthropic legacy. Today, this parkland offers locals and visitors a space to enjoy various cultural and recreational activities.

The Vine Park

This venue is a vine park with stunning tropical vines covering over 70 purpose-built pergolas and arbours.  The walkway pergolas are covered with Stunning red Flame of the Forest vines and the turquoise jade vines.

This stunning open-air plaza opened in August 2016 and is perfect for open-air ballet, theatre and concerts.

This venue has six gates, the main one on Florence Street, two on Minnie Street, and another on Grafton Street.
